The ECOCORD FM 234 TOP ready-made microphone cable is based on the PVC-free, high-end CMK TOP 234 ECOCORD bulk cable. It combines two counter-wound copper spiral shields featuring a PE fiber separating layer. This results in almost 100% coverage and excellent protection against EMI and RFI interference.
Two copper conductors with 0.34 mm² cross-section (AWG 22) made of OFC Copper (Copper purity at least 99.99% Cu) ensure reliable, low-loss transmissions of sensitive audio signals with high operational reliability. A dimensionally stable TPE V-separator inside the cable guarantees secure fixing of the wires, consistent electrical properties (capacitance, impedance), and effective reduction of microphonic effects.
The sturdy outer jacket made of 100% recyclable TPE-V material combines high flexibility with excellent durability. This makes the ECOCORD FM 234 TOP microphone cable equally suitable for mobile use on stage and in studio environments as well as for demanding permanent installations.
For a permanently secure connection, the cable is fitted with high-quality NC3FXX-B and NC3MXX-B XLR connectors made by NEUTRIK®. The black outer jacket offers high mechanical stability, while gold-plated contacts provide effective protection against corrosion and guarantee a consistent signal quality.
The ECOCORD FM 234 TOP microphone cable is the ideal choice for all applications requiring maximum signal purity, interference immunity, and mechanical resilience.
Typical areas of application:
- High-resolution studio recordings
- Live sound reinforcement and touring
- Broadcast environments requiring sensitive technology
- Permanent installations in EMC-intensive areas
Shield connection:
- Both shields (inner and outer) are continuously connected to ground (pin 1) on the XLR connector. This ensures full 360° shielding with maximum protection against electromagnetic interference and allows the entire shielding potential to be effectively utilized and interference to be reliably dissipated—even with long cable runs or in RF-loaded environments.
Why use separating fleece anyway?
Although both screens are electrically connected, the insulation provided by the fleece tape remains crucial regarding:
- Mechanical robustness
- Durability
- Consistency of the screen effect
- Flexibility and minimized microphony
The most important features at a glance:
